MIAMI -- The Mets are putting together a run that will bring meaningful games to Citi Field down the stretch this season, and Matt Harvey is making his bid to be on the mound for those big games. Wednesday night, Harvey threw seven scoreless innings, the offense continued to roll and the bullpen avoided disaster as the Mets escaped Marlins Park with an 8-6 win.
The Mets (58-50) won their sixth straight game and swept the Marlins (43-65)for the second time this season, the first time in a three-game series in Miami since 2012. It was the first time this season the Mets won three straight on the road.
