Ahead of tonight’s game, the Mets announced that they have activated Noah Syndergaard from the injured list. Syndergaard has missed two starts with a hamstring strain and will return to the mound tonight to try to help the Mets avoid the sweep at Citi Field. To make room for Syndergaard on the roster, the Mets have designated Carlos Gomez for assignment.
The Mets signed Gomez back in March to a minor league deal, bringing back the prodigal son who was the subject of the memorable trade that never was at the 2015 trading deadline.
