The Mets have activated Kelly Johnson for tonight's game against the Milwaukee Brewers at Miller Park and optioned Ty Kelly to the Triple-A Las Vegas 51s.
The Mets reacquired Johnson from the Atlanta Braves on Wednesday in a trade that sent minor league righty Akeel Morris to the Braves.
Johnson, a versatile utilityman who can play in both the infield and outfield, spent the 2015 season with the Mets and hit .250/.304/.414 with five home runs in 49 games. Johnson’s bat has been a little cooler this season in Atlanta, where he’s hit .
