The Mets are getting some reinforcements, as they have activated Javier Báez from the 10-day IL. He is in the lineup and batting third against the Dodgers in today’s series finale finale. To make room on the roster, the team has optioned reliever Geoff Hartlief to Triple-A Syracuse.
Báez exited a game against the Phillies on August 8 with left hip tightness after grounding out. He made one pinch hitting appearance on August 10, but landed on the IL a few days later with back spasms.
