Prior to tonight’s game against the Reds, the Mets activated Brooks Raley from the injured list. To make room on the roster, the club designated Richard Lovelady for assignment. This is the second time that Lovelady has been DFA’d by New York in their seemingly never-ending roster carousel.
Raley was placed on the IL with elbow inflammation in April 2024 and later underwent Tommy John surgery, ending his 2024 campaign after seven shutout innings. The Mets re-signed the left-hander this April, hoping to have him back as he recovered from his surgery.
