A day after the bombshell Mets ownership news, the team acquired a center fielder.
The Mets are acquiring Jake Marisnick from the Astros for prospects, The Post’s Joel Sherman confirmed. Marisnick, 28, is a right-handed hitter with a strong defensive acumen and appears to be the Mets’ choice to replace Juan Lagares, whose 2020 option the team decline earlier this offseason.
The trade comes a day after news broke that Steve Cohen likely will own 80 percent of the Mets in five years.
Marisnick, who began his major-league career with the Marlins, spent parts of six seasons with Houston.
