Mets acquire Kelly Johnson from Braves for Akeel Morris

The Mets have traded for Kelly Johnson — again — getting him from the Braves along with cash in exchange for Double-A right-handed reliever Akeel Morris, the team announced.

Johnson, 34, is hitting just .215/.273/.289 with one home run and 10 RBIs in 49 games (132 plate appearances) this season.

Morris, 23 had a 4.62 ERA in 25.1 innings for Double-A Binghamton this season. He made his major league debut last season, pretty much by default, getting hit hard while pitching 2/3 of an inning on June 17 in Toronto.
