Due to an iffy weather forecast in New York City, the Mets announced that they have postponed today’s scheduled series opener against the NL West-leading Los Angeles Dodgers. The game will be made up as a single-admission doubleheader tomorrow afternoon beginning at 4:10 PM.
Tylor Megill and Gavin Stone had originally been scheduled to face off against each other on the mound today. Presumably, both pitchers will start one of the two scheduled games tomorrow, with José Quintana and Tyler Glasnow suiting up for their respective teams in the other matchup. On the bright side for the Mets, between today’s day off and Adrian Houser’s four-inning relief outing in yesterday’s game against the Giants, the bullpen should be fully rested for tomorrow’s doubleheader (and the team will also likely be calling up an additional pitcher to serve as the 27th man for the day).
