Luis Guillorme heading to IL with left hamstring strain

Lusi Guillorme is heading to the Injured List with a left hamstring strain, the team announced this morning. Guillorme, who made an acrobatic catch in Friday’s game and scored the tying run in last night’s game, has been the primary shortstop since Francisco Lindor left the game with a right side strain on July 16th.

His playing time was likely going to be limited with the acquisition of Javier Báez, but Guillorme’s eye at the plate and above-average defense around the infield is a valuable asset for the team. Hopefully, the strain is a minor one, and Guillorme doesn’t have to miss too much time down the stretch.
