Kevin Pillar diagnosed with multiple nasal fractures

The Mets announced that outfielder Kevin Pillar suffered multiple nasal fractures after being hit in the nose with a Jacob Webb fastball in the top of the seventh inning last night against the Braves. He will be meeting with a facial specialist in Atlanta later today to explore his options.

The Webb pitch caused Pillar to keel over as blood poured from his nose into the batter’s box. After the Mets’ training staff halted the bleeding, Pillar stood up and left the field on his own power. The game paused as both teams showed their respect to Pillar, while Braves manager Brian Snitker removed and consoled Webb in the dugout.
