For the first time this spring, Jose Reyes fielded fly balls in center field Wednesday, he told reporters.
"It was good," he said, according to NJ.com. "I like it, I like to be running around."
Reyes said he will play shortstop during the World Baseball Classic. However, with David Wright missing his second day of camp Wednesday due to an impingement in his shoulder, Reyes expects to focus on playing third base when he returns to the Mets after the international tournament.
Terry Collins said Wednesday that Reyes will certainly get more time at third base, but he will still get work on the middle infield and continue to learn center field.
