Jose Reyes scratched from lineup with tight left rib cage

Jose Reyes has been scratched from Sunday's lineup with a tight left rib cage.

Reyes tried to convince Mets manager Terry Collins to let him play, but the Mets decided to keep him out, according to Anthony DiComo of MLB.com

Reyes went 3-for-4 with two RBI in the Mets' 7-2 win over the Angels on Saturday, capping off a historic night during which he collected his 2,000th career hit.

After his first-inning single to reach the 2,000-hit club, Reyes singled in the third and stole a base; walked in the fifth; and hit a two-RBI single in the eighth.
