Jose Reyes making first-ever start in left field tonight

Jose Reyes will make his first-ever start in left field on Tuesday night when the Mets play the Reds in Cincinnati.

Juan Lagares is starting in center field with Brandon Nimmo in right field.

Reyes, who played one inning in center field earlier this year, has started 60 games at shortstop, 31 games at third base, and seven games at second base this season.

The Mets recently lost outfielders Michael Conforto (shoulder) and Yoenis Cespedes (hamstring) for the season. They traded outfielders Jay Bruce and Curtis Granderson earlier this month.
