Jose Canseco wants to help Tim Tebow transform into a true power hitter — just not in the way you might think.
Canseco, a self-proclaimed steroid user during his major league career, offered to be the Mets prospect’s personal hitting coach for free. He believes he knows how to fix Tebow’s swing and wants to teach the former Heisman Trophy winner the art of being a power hitter.
“He needs help,” Canseco told TMZ Sports. “I just saw him. The swing looks so mechanical, so bad. I’m surprised nobody’s helping him out.”
When asked how good of a hitter Canseco could turn Tebow into, the former Oakland A’s star noted how “extremely strong” Tebow is and that right-handed pitchers will throw into the sweet spot of his left-handed swing.
