The Mets entered the fifth inning on Tuesday having scored just five runs in their previous 34 innings against the D-backs, who began the night with a MLB-worst 5.08 team ERA.
However, the Mets quickly scored four times in the fifth inning, before adding three more in the sixth, on their way to a 7-5 win, which ended a four-game losing streak to Arizona.
The Mets finished the game with six extra-base hits, which is their most in a game since July 7.
"Every time I looked up they were hitting doubles, and it's nice that we were hitting doubles for a change," Mets manager Terry Collins said after the game.
