Jesse Winker left this afternoon’s Mets/Orioles game after a first-inning at-bat with what was later revealed to be back soreness.
After returning from the Injured List on Tuesday, Winker took just three at-bats, going 0-for-2 in the series opener and 0-for-1 today. Winker, the starting designated hitter, was replaced by Mark Vientos, who is likely to get significant playing time at DH if Winker needs to return to the injured list.
Winker had been sidelined with an oblique strain since May 4, and played in five rehab games before rejoining the team in Baltimore. Winker got off to a slow start this season, batting .
