Jed Lowrie diagnosed with capsule sprain in left knee

Ahead of the spring training opener, the New York Mets have released a diagnosis on Jed Lowrie’s left knee pain. The team announced that the infielder has a “capsule sprain” in his left knee, according to MLB.com’s Anthony DiComo.

Lowrie, who signed a two-year deal with the club in January, flew back to New York earlier this week to get an MRI after complaining of soreness in his knee. The MRI did not reveal any serious damage, but the Mets did not provide further information following the MRI results.
