Mets RHP Jacob deGrom said the goal for this season is for the Mets to win the World Series, and didn't flinch when he was asked a follow-up about whether it's a realistic goal.
"Definitely," deGrom said. "Last year, we had so many injuries. We got Cespedes healthy, Conforto will be healthy, Harvey, Noah, Steve (Matz), Wheeler. Look at everybody who was hurt last year. And you put those guys back on the field, tha makes a big difference."
Regarding specific personal goals, deGrom said he wants to win the Cy Young award, reach the 200-inning mark again, and help get the team where it wants to go.
