It's NLCS repeat as Mets again sweep four games vs. Cubs

NEW YORK -- The New York Mets arrived home reeling after getting swept at first-place Washington.

Their scoreless streak had grown to a season-high 23 innings before mercifully ending in the final frame at Nationals Park.

Their deficit in the division standings had swelled to a season-high-matching six games.

Curtis Granderson was hobbled with a strained right calf.

And Steven Matz and Noah Syndergaard begrudgingly had been outed as having bone spurs in their pitching elbows.

So what did the Mets do upon returning to Citi Field to face the Chicago Cubs?
