Sung-bum Na was born on October 03, 1989 in Gwangju, the third-largest city in South Korea. Growing up, he rooted for his hometown team, the Haitai Tigers (now the KIA Tigers), but baseball was little more than a fun game to play and watch, as he aspired to become a scientist.
