22-year-old rookie Amed Rosario made his big-league debut Tuesday for the Mets starting at shortstop and batting seventh, while getting his first hit.
"It was a tremendous experience just being out there," Rosario said after the game. "I really don't have words to describe it."
Rosario flied out in his first at-bat, grounded out in his second at-bat, and struck out looking in his third at-bat before beating out an infield hit in the seventh inning.
In the fifth inning, in an attempt to throw out a runner going to first base, he threw the ball late and wide, pulling 1B Wilmer Flores off the bag.
