The IBWAA Wednesday named Sandy Alcantara and Justin Verlander the top pitchers in their respective leagues (I’m still not sure if we’re allowed to say “Cy Young”).
Alcantara was the overwhelming winner in the National League with 433 points. Julio Urias (179 points) and Max Fried (146 points) were second and third. That was my ballot as well, with Edwin Diaz fourth.
Justin Verlander was also a runaway winner in the American League, finishing with 454 points
Dylan Cease and Shohei Ohtani followed with 246 and 196 points, respectively. Again, that was also my ballot.
