IBWAA Elects David Ortiz to the Hall of Fame

The Interest Baseball Writers Association of America (IBWAA) Tuesday announced its members have voted David Ortiz into the Hall of Fame. Our vote does not really mean anything, but we take it very seriously nonetheless.

Ortiz received 79% of the vote. Billy Wagner got 66% and Todd Helton 59% Our members apparently decided to honor Curt Schilling’s wishes not to vote for him, receiving 58%. In his first year on the ballot, Alex Rodriguez received 56%, pretty high for a proven and suspended steroid cheat. Speaking of which, Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens (both never truly proven nor suspended) have already been inducted by our members.
