Hey, Alderson, Mets desperately need more hitting — now

All of a sudden, April flowers have turned into May showers in Flushing.

The Mets right now are the classic Hole In The Bat Gang with the same old hole at shortstop.

Ruben Tejada, playing because Wilmer Flores needed a break from shortstop and Terry Collins needed a break from Flores, failed to execute an elementary transfer of the baseball on a Turn-Two throw to first base that should have resulted in a double play and cost the Mets a run, and asking the Mets to overcome a 1-0 deficit in the first inning apparently is too much to ask these days.
