Jim Henderson, who signed a minor league contract this offseason with the Mets, was a bright spot in Tuesday's 2-0 win against the Royals.
Henderson, 33, worked a spotless seventh inning in New York's shutout. He looked sharp, striking out two, and hit 96 MPH on his final pitch in his first MLB appearance in roughly two years.
"That was exciting," Henderson said of Tuesday's debut. "I didn't really have the butterflies like I did in [my] debut and stuff, like I thought I might have. I probably was more nervous in spring training than I was today.
