Harvey to start Wednesday on three days' rest

The Mets will have RHP Matt Harvey pitch on three days' rest in his second start off the disabled list, manager Terry Collins told reporters on Monday.

Harvey, who allowed seven runs and eight hits in two innings in Saturday's 12-8 loss to the Houston Astros, will pitch Wednesday against the Philadelphia Phillies.

"The plan is to send him out," Collins said, according to Newsday's Marc Carig. "I just got talking with him this morning. He wants to get back out there as quick as possible. He feels good."

Collins said he consulted with pitching coach Dan Warthen before making the decision and said he was OK with it.
