NEW YORK -- Seeking to enter 2018 confident that his health issues are behind him, Matt Harvey is scheduled to return from the disabled list Friday against the Astros, the Mets announced. It will be Harvey's first game since June 14.
Sidelined with a stress injury to his right scapula, Harvey recently made two rehab starts for Double-A Binghamton, allowing five earned runs in 7 2/3 innings. Despite those results, the Mets determined that Harvey is healthy enough to start for them Friday. He will throw a bullpen session Tuesday in Cincinnati before the Mets finalize his return.
