Frank Viola loves his job, but still wants to get on a big-league coaching staff

Mets Triple-A pitching coach Frank Viola wants to be on a big-league staff, despite playing a major role in the development of Noah Syndergaard, Jacob deGrom, Steven Matz, and Zack Wheeler.

"After being in Vegas for four years, I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't love to have an opportunity to make a difference in the big leagues," Viola recently told the NY Post. "If it happens, it happens."

Viola, 56, joined the Mets minor league system in 2011, when he was hired to be the pitching coach at Single-A Brooklyn.
