Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor and team owner Steve Cohen met for dinner last night, according to Jeff Passan of ESPN, who adds that there’s hope that the sides will agree to an extension over $300 million before Opening Day on Thursday. Joel Sherman of the New York Post and MLB Network backed up the Passan report and said “there appears to be momentum toward a deal” before the season begins.
