Francisco Lindor is the starting shortstop for the National League in the All-Star Game

Francisco Lindor will start at shortstop for the National League in the All-Star Game, as he’s won the second phase of voting for the starting gig over Dodgers shortstop Mookie Betts. Believe it or not, this is Lindor’s first All-Star nod as a Met despite his excellent body of work since joining the team.

At the time of this writing, Lindor is hitting .257/.325/.451 with 17 home runs, 52 runs scored, 44 RBI, and a 118 wRC+, and he came into the Mets’ doubleheader today with 3.0 fWAR to his name. And despite this being the first time he’s made the roster as a Met, it’s the fifth time he’s made the game, as he made the American League squad four times while playing in Cleveland.
