He wasn’t with the New York Mets long and his biggest claim to fame is giving Pete Alonso his nickname. Upon seeing the young Mets slugger and future home run king for a single season and career stand up and stretch, Todd Frazier connected Alonso’s appearance to what a Polar Bear looks like. Thus spake the Toddfather and a nickname was born.
Frazier is a regular on podcasts post-playing career and wasn’t too happy about the way the Mets let Alonso walk away. He questioned the Mets letting Alonso and Edwin Diaz walk as well as the trade of Brandon Nimmo.
