Final Score: Reds 7, Mets 2-Bad pitching dooms Mets

The Reds poured it on early and late to defeat the Mets 7-2. Jason Vargas was on the mound and not good once again. He loaded the bases in the first inning and gave up two runs before recording an out. Eugenio Suarez drove in those runs with a single, and then added to his tally in the third with a RBI double. Tucker Barnhardt followed him that inning with a RBI hit and the Reds had a four-run lead. Vargas lasted just four innings and struck out only one.
