Final Score: Phillies 8, Mets 2— LOBsters, LOBsters, everywhere

With the chance to earn a series win and build on their Tuesday victory, the Mets flopped on Wednesday afternoon to drop the game and the series to the Phillies.

It became evident from the onset that this would be a long day for New York. David Peterson took the hill looking to give his team a strong showing, and instead he was bombarded for four runs in the first inning. Philadelphia got on the board first with a Rhys Hoskins solo home run, and after a Bryce Harper double and a J.T. Realmuto walk, Alec Bolm unloaded on a three-run home run.
