Final score: Nationals 7, Mets 1—The Knicks won, at least

The Mets came into today’s game with a chance to secure the series victory against their division rivals, and instead they let Joe Ross dominate them while allowing the Nats bats to put up a touchdown’s worth of runs against them, resulting in a 7-1 loss to tie the series at one game apiece.

There’s not really any aspect of the game that didn’t leave a ton to be desired today by the Mets. Marcus Stroman had his first rough start of the season, suffering from a mix of bad luck and defense, bad calls by the home plate umpire, and bad command, which resulted in him giving up at least one run in each of the four innings he pitched.
