Despite having a runner reach base in the first five innings of the game, the Mets were only able to plate one run against Scherzer on a Luis Guillorme sacrifice fly in the 4th.
Mets killer Trea Turner got the Nationals started on offense, hitting a solo home run to lead off the game. The Nationals then scored again in the 2nd inning on a Victor Robles single.
