Final Score: Mets 8, Marlins 4-Just dingers

The Mets used their power bats to defeat the Marlins 8-4 at Citi Field. Big home runs by Michael Conforto, Pete Alonso, and J.D. Davis helped lead the Amazins to a win they desperately needed against the division leaders.

David Peterson got the start, and despite losing the strike zone twice, got through five innings and allowed only two runs. Once he exited, the pesky Marlin offense inched closer against Jeurys Familia who was all over the place in his appearance. Miami made it a one run game at the time when Drew Smith allowed two inherited runs to score, but overall the bullpen was great.
