Final Score: Mets 6, Blue Jays 3—Mets declare independence from losing

The Mets ended their quick trip to Canada on a high note with their 6-3 victory over the Blue Jays tonight. After a crushing defeat last night, the Mets rebounded to put together a good game on both sides of the ball. Corey Oswalt and Seth Lugo combined for seven innings to start the game, while only allowing three runs.

The offense did almost all of its damage in the fifth inning as five runs came across to score before the dust settled. The most impressive of the Mets’ six hits that inning was Todd Frazier’s two-run home run, his tenth dinger of the season.
