The Mets followed Friday’s thrilling come-from-behind win with another one just like it, as they once again twice overcame deficits to defeat the Nationals 4-3 and pulled to just a half game behind their division rivals in the rival card hunt.
The game got off to a rough start, as Juan Soto mashed a two-run homer off of Syndergaard in the first to momentarily deflate the momentum the Mets carried into the game with them. But as has been the case numerous times during the past few weeks, the team fought back.
