Final score: Braves 4, Mets 0 - Unclutch

The Mets lost another painful game in Atlanta, squandering opportunities left and right in a 3-0 loss to the Braves. They outhit the Braves nine to seven, but the Mets’ early season offensive ineptitude continued with a woeful 1-for-13 performance with RISP and a whopping ten runners left on. Pete Alonso continued to struggle, going hitless in five at bats and striking out three times, and Robinson Cano cooled off with a pair of strikeouts.

On the pitching side, rookie starter David Peterson again looked very good. He struck out eight over six innings and was undermined by some unfortunate defense, which contributed to two of the three runs he allowed.
