Dillon Gee roughed up in return to Mets rotation in 7-3 loss

PADRES 7, METS 3

SAN DIEGO - It has been a frustrating year for Dillon Gee. He was the odd-man out of the rotation this spring after the Mets were unable to trade him this winter. He was bounced to the bullpen and back to the rotation. And just last week, the Mets even asked him to stay the disabled list an extra week and pitch an extra rehab game minors, where Gee said he felt like he was just “wasting bullets.”

Wednesday night, those bullets were more like blanks.

In his first start since coming off the disabled list and in the experimental six-man rotation, Gee was rocked in his shortest start in over two years as the Mets lost to the Padres 7-3 at Petco Park.
