DeGrom had successful surgery, expected to be ready for Spring Training

Mets RHP Jacob deGrom underwent successful surgery Wednesday to repair the ulnar nerve damage in his right elbow, the team announced.

DeGrom is done for the season but is expected to be ready for Spring Training.

He was scheduled to start this past Sunday, but after feeling pain following a bullpen session on Friday, it was determined that deGrom would require elbow surgery.

The 28-year-old began feeling pain in his forearm and underwent an MRI in late-August, which determined he had no structural damage in his arm. He threw 10 pitches off a mound Sept.
