David Wright on why these Mets won’t collapse down stretch

The feeling is the same, only better, in David Wright’s estimation.

You never want to mention two numbers — 2007 and 2008, years that live in collapsing infamy — to any Mets fan, unless you are fully prepared to duck.

Wright is a survivor of those two Mets collapses as well as the 2006 season, which ended with Game 7 of the NLCS. Wright is reexperiencing all the good vibes of those years — and more — with the current Mets.

“It feels very similar to what Shea felt like in ’06, ’07 and ’08,” Wright said.
