The Mets announced that David Wright will have a new position as a Special Advisor to both GM Brodie Van Wagenen and to Jeff Wilpon. The captain already got a taste of front office work when the general manager invited Wright to join him in Las Vegas for the Winter Meetings. At the time, Van Wagenen stated that he wanted to get insight from a player perspective and he believed that Wright was the perfect person to do that.
For his part, Wright spoke about how he enjoyed that aspect of game, and it now appears that he will have an official position within the organization to continue to lend his knowledge to the front office.
