Danny Young to undergo Tommy John Surgery

Before Wednesday’s game against the Diamondbacks, the Mets placed left-handed relief pitcher Danny Young on the 15-Day Injured List with a left elbow strain. This morning, news broke that Young will require Tommy John Surgery, and was moved to the 60-Day IL.

Young appeared in ten games for the 2025 Mets, with an ERA of 4.32. Young had two poor outings - the fourth game of the season agains the Marlins and April 20th’s appearance against the Cardinals - but overall, he has been an effective reliever this season. In his final appearance for the season, he struck out three Nationals in an inning of work on April 26.
