Curtis Granderson delivers big shot for Mets during quiet season at plate

NEW YORK -- New York Mets right fielder Curtis Granderson's season average sat at .195 when he stepped to the plate to open the bottom of the ninth inning Friday. He had struck out three times and walked once in the game. And then he delivered a game-salvaging homer.

After closer Jeurys Familia surrendered four runs in the top of the inning, Granderson delivered a leadoff long ball in the bottom half against Los Angeles Dodgers reliever Pedro Baez as the Mets produced a 6-5 victory.
