New York Mets manager Terry Collins picked San Francisco Giants RHP Johnny Cueto as the starting pitcher for the National League during Tuesday's All-Star Game.

Collins said he had also considered Chicago Cubs RHP Jake Arrieta, who had a sub-2.00 ERA through June 22 and is 12-4 with a 2.68 ERA overall, but elected to go with Cueto, who is 13-1 with a 2.47 ERA and hasn't lost a decision since April.

"Jake had a big edge because of the way he started out the year, but right now Johnny's been pitching the best, so I went with him," Collins said on Monday.
