Cespedes receives cortisone injection in right wrist

Yoenis Cespedes received a cortisone injection in his sore right wrist and is day-to-day, the Mets said on Wednesday.

Players ordinarily resume baseball activity two-to-three days after receiving cortisone injections.

X-rays taken before Tuesday's game on Cespedes' wrist came back negative.

The 32-year-old Cespedes, who was scratched from Tuesday's lineup, said he initially hurt the wrist while swinging a bat last Tuesday, and that he recently notified a team trainer when the issue persisted.

Cespedes missed some time earlier during Spring Training due to right shoulder soreness he said he deals with every February.
