Brandon Nimmo didn't know his name was being thrown around in trades when the Mets discussed a potential move with the Pirates for Andrew McCutchen. His wife, Chelsea, told him when the two were hanging out on the couch.
"Huh. I guess you were almost traded," Chelsea told Brandon, via Matt Ehalt of The Record.
Nimmo wasn't offended, either. In fact, not only was his ego not bruised, it was stroked. He was glad to be in a discussion with former NL MVP McCutchen and honored the Mets kept him.
"I was like, 'wow, that's pretty cool they kept me,'" Nimmo said.
