Bartolo Colon is the only one holding Mets rotation together

CINCINNATI — When they sit down and contemplate Bartolo Colon this offseason, if not sooner, the Mets’ brain trust should arrive at a simple conclusion: Let’s pay two!

Perhaps The Post is getting ahead of itself after watching Colon fire six shutout innings to lead his exhausted Mets teammates over the Reds, 5-0, Monday afternoon at Great American Ball Park. Then again, maybe it’s the Mets who should get ahead of this situation, given both the mutual admiration that exists between them and their 43-year-old sage and the dreck that dominates the upcoming starting-pitching free-agent market.

A two-year deal — how about for $20 million?
