HOUSTON — On a day the Mets actually hit, the pitching was the problem.
Chris Flexen got battered, Cameron Maybin hit a three-run homer, George Springer connected for the second straight day and the Mets fell to the Astros 8-6 on Sunday, for a three-game sweep of the series.
Flexen last four innings, allowing seven runs on nine hits and two walks before giving way to the bullpen.
Josh Reddick added two hits and three RBIs for the Astros, who won both games of a doubleheader on Saturday in their first home games since flooding from Hurricane Harvey devastated the city.
